William Morris Oilcloth Tablecloths

William Morris was an English designer and writer born in Walthamstow, England in 1834. He is best known for his designs in the Arts and Crafts movement, which emphasised traditional craftsmanship and rejected mass-produced goods. Morris is famous for his design "Strawberry Thief", which features birds stealing strawberries and is considered one of his most iconic patterns. Morris was also a writer and a social activist, and he founded the company Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. (later known as Morris & Co.) which produced decorative and functional objects, textiles, and wallpapers. He is considered one of the most important designers of the 19th century, and his works continue to influence design and architecture today, for example the Entwistle Design is very similar to Morris' work.
